It all started...

Ever since I was a child, I recall having sleep issues. I would go to bed but lay there, listen to the radio and create an elaborate story about the many animals and dolls that shared my bed. As I got older, the sleep issues followed me. I recall a time that I had slept maybe 20 minutes a night for 4 nights straight! I needed to do something and quick.


Along came a Facebook post, from a friend, discussing essential oils and their properties. I've always been a bit holistic so I started reaching and met with my friend. She turned me on to doTerra and the power of pure essential oils.


My sleep journey was not a quick one. I started with Lavender essential oil. Placing a drop on each foot before bed time. While this calmed me, it didn't have the effect of putting me to sleep. I started to research other oils with calming properties. There were so many-Bergamot, Serenity blend, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Roman Chamomile. I started experimenting with one a night, then combining 2-3.


Our body chemistries are all different. What works for me, may not work for you. It's easy to experiment and find your combination. Pure essential oils get into our system within 30 seconds and through our entire body in 30 minutes. The body works in conjunction with the essential oils to provide what it needs.


What's my nightly routine? Well, it changes occasionally but my main go to oils are Cedarwood, Roman Chamomile and Vetiver. One drop on the bottom of each foot is all I need for a good nights rest. Sometimes I swap Juniper Berry in or Petigrain as both have similar properties. I can't imagine my life without essential oils.
